Nestled in Columbia Township in Jackson County, Clark Lake is a 580-acre all-sports lake right in the heart of the Irish Hills. Residents and visitors alike enjoy swimming, fishing, water skiing, sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and just floating around on their “rafts,” which is the local word for a pontoon boat. Clark Lake folks take their rafts seriously! They even host a Raft-O-Rama each year, dressing up their pontoon boats like parade floats and competing for prizes.

That’s not all you’ll find happening on Clark Lake, though. Annual BBQs, 5k runs, and even Polar Plunges are staples in this fun-loving community. Boat rentals are available at Eagle Pointe Marina if you forgot to bring your own. There is also plenty of time to get in a run, jog or walk on the Clark Lake Spirit Trail.

• The Michigan Beer and Wine Festival, Faster Horses Country Music Festival and the NASCAR races are all popular reasons to head over to Michigan International Speedway.
• Step back in time at the Historic Brick Walker Tavern, where you can explore 80 acres of stagecoach-era history. (P.S. They also have a weekly Farmer’s Market!)
• Run, Hike, Play and Explore at Hidden Lakes Gardens in Tipton. Their Botanical garden and lush acreage are a perfect way to spend a summer afternoon.
• Michigan made wine at it’s finest can be found at Cherry Creek Winery, near Silver Lake west of Brooklyn, MI. You’ll also find a wide array of other Michigan-made products.

Clark Lake is home to two great restaurants – The Beach Bar and The Pointe Bar and Grill. Both are popular for their great food, drinks, and atmosphere. Feel like driving? CoCoNuts Grille has the most heavenly, fresh made key lime pie, as well as seafood and drink specials. Or head into Jackson for taco’s at the Crazy Cowboy and catch a movie at one the cinemas!
