Closter, Demarest and Haworth Schools
The three towns of Closter, Demarest and Haworth are served by various elementary schools and middle schools. However the three municipalities are served by a common high school, the Northern Valley Regional High School.

Northern Valley Regional High School
Located in Demarest, this school serves over 1200 students from the municipalities of Closter, Demarest and Haworth. Offering a four year comprehensive educational program, the school has received many awards and much recognition. The student to teacher ratio in this school is noted at 15:1. This high school was ranked in the 14th position among all high schools in New Jersey.

Awards and Recognition
The Northern Valley Regional High School of Demarest has received much recognition. It was ranked as the 14th best public high school in New Jersey out of a comprehensive list of 322 schools in 2010. It also received the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the US Department of Education. Ratings by Newsweek magazine in 2009 placed this school at no. 378 out of the 1500 schools present across US. Besides this, the New Jersey monthly magazine wrote a cover story on this school in its 2008 September issue.
